Something Fishy Going On

Swam around the ocean just the other night
And to my surprise
Clownfish were a-dancing with the great big sharks
Right before my eyes
I looked to the left - I looked to the right
Friendship all around me felt so so right
The clownfish were a-dancing with the great big sharks
There's something fishy going on.

They were swimming and a-sailing, swimming and a-sailing
Whooping and a-wailing, whooping and a-wailing
Dancing and a-prancing, dancing and a-prancing
Something fishy going on!

Baby Beluga

Baby Beluga in the deep blue sea
Swim so wild and you swim so free
Blue sky above and the sea below and a little white whale on the go.

Baby Beluga Oh Baby Beluga
Is the water warm? Is your mama home with you so happy?
When it's dark, you're home and fed
Curl up snug in your waterbed.
Moon is shining and the stars are out
Good night little whale good night.

Baby Beluga Oh Baby Beluga
With tomorrow's sun, another day's begun
You'll soon be waking.

Baby Beluga in the deep blue sea
Swim so wild and you swim so free
Blue sky above and the sea below and a little white whale on the go.
You're just a little white whale on the go.

Colors of the Sea

Take a look around you, purple red and white
Everything so perfect, everything so right.
In each passing tide, beams a radiant hue
Sparkling rays of sunlight, yellow green and blue.

The colors of the sea, Run together so naturally
The colors of the sea, show the beauty of you and the beauty of me.

No 2 friends are ever the same, each is special it's true.
You have something that makes you shine, there inside of you.

The colors of the sea, Run together so naturally
The colors of the sea, show the beauty of you and the beauty of me.
Show the beauty of you and the beauty of me.

We're Sharks

A shark may have 3 thousand teeth
Some on top, some underneath
When we chew we leave a mark
That's what it is to be a shark

We're sharks, leaving our marks. We're sharks, leaving our marks.

We have no bones just cartilage
Some have bodies as big as a fridge
We only swim forward, we never back up
And when there's food we all snack up.

We're sharks, leaving our marks. We're sharks, leaving our marks.

If you see me coming with my dorsal fin
I will laugh and grin grin grin
We will meet you around the bend
I really hope we can be friends.

We're sharks, leaving our marks. We're sharks, leaving our marks. We're sharks, leaving our marks. Yo!

Oceans of Fun

Oceans of fun, we're playing in the sun.
Oceans of fun, we're swimming 'til the day is done.
Oceans of fun, it's one for all and all for one
"Cause out in the beautiful big blue sea it's oceans of fun.

Every little fish has a special wish
Just to splash and splish and not be on a dish.
Everybody grins dancing on their fins
So come on in and give it a spin and let the fun begin.

Oceans of fun, we're playing in the sun.
Oceans of fun, we're swimming 'til the day is done.
Oceans of fun, it's one for all and all for one
"Cause out in the beautiful big blue sea it's oceans of fun.

Santa Claus Is Coming To Town

You better watch out, you better not cry,
Better not pout I'm telling you why,
Santa Claus is coming to town.

He's making a list and checking it twice
Gonna find out who's naughty and nice,
Santa Claus is coming to town.

He sees you when you're sleeping, he knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good so be good for goodness sake.

Oh, you better watch out, you better not cry,
Better not pout I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town.

Second graders have been learning about empty beats.  Here we are writing rhythms using ta, ti-ti, and empty beat.

We have been learning about the music staff in second grade.

The music staff has 5 lines, 4 spaces, and we number them with line 1 starting at the bottom.
Can you count the lines and spaces on the staff below?

Can you tell where these notes are on the staff - for example, line 2 or space 4?
